Parece que #Microsoft está maniobrando desde hace meses para cerrar el framework #dotNET. Lo divertido del asunto es que esto está siendo denunciado por el propio Miguel de Icaza, quien trabaja para Microsoft (o al menos lo hacía hasta hace poco).

Last week I had to use the #Skype on my #fedora laptop. As a precaution, before installing the rpm I checked for post-install scripts:

This adds a dnf repo and a GPG key to the rpm keyring. This enables automatic updates, but there's no corresponding post-uninstall script to remove these.

From this point on, #Microsoft is permanently trusted to "update" any software on my laptop 😱

I fu**ing hate Microsoft. They have forced every Minecraft player to migrate their account to Microsoft accounts. I did this a few days ago and intended to play today.

My account was *instantly* suspended for violating their ToS. I guess logging into MultiMC and wanting to play is not okay?

There's no way of contacting them and there's no way of recovering my +10 year old Minecraft account.

Please Microsoft, just curl up and die you piece of shit company.

@globalc This year I started using Visual Studio Code every day on my Linux workstation. I use extensions for #Vim emulation, git integration and semantic completion in C++, #Rust and #Python. There is even an extension for remote development over ssh, and it's a life changer compared to an an responsive editor in a tmux session.

#Windows11 is too heavy to run on only 5 year old high-end hardware
A company like #Microsoft could make #lighter and therefore more #responsible software but they decided that selling more new devices is better than reducing #ewaste and saving the #environment

#MATE on the other hand was designed for 10+ years old devices and is getting even lighter since so you don't need to buy a new PC every 5 years

What do you think? Is not caring about #waste in 2021 a dealbreaker for you?
