    #QOTO just updated our about page. There is some very important information in there so I highly recommend all QOTO users read the updated page.

    We updated the wording on our Rules (same rules as before though effectively), added information on our added features and how to use them, links to the various QOTO services we offer (like FunkWhale or NextCloud).

    It also contains a short introductory letter/guide on getting started using QOTO. I hope it will be a huge help for many of you. The link is below.

    🎉 #PeerTube 1.4 released 🎉

    This new release includes a basic theme & plugin system, allows users to upload audio files (PeerTube will create videos from them), has a better registration process, a clearer account video channels page and many other features!

    This release also adds Finnish, Greek and Scottish Gaelic languages support to the web interface thanks to PeerTube translators!

    Unfortunately, the soundtrack is not quite as sharp as the picture. The audio is fuzzy and the music is (IMHO) not suited to the picture. This is a shame as it could work really well with good sound.

    Are there any audio/voiceover people out there who could record a better soundtrack for this?

    No se si se puede hablar de que exista la "mejor" red social libre, pues cada cual ha tenido sus experiencias, y probablemente no podemos afirmar que las que NO hemos probado sean peores que las otras.

    Mi experiencia, de haber pasado por #gnusocial, #plumpio, #diaspora, #pleroma, #mastodon, #friendica, y ahora experimentando con #hubzilla, la puedo resumir asi:

    En mi opinion, yo divido las #RRSS por ser mas o menos "amigables" con los usuarios.

    Asi, por ejemplo, me parece que #gnusocial + #mastodon + #pleroma fueron las mas faciles de entender y utilizar. Me parecen muy amigables e intuitivas. Ademas que muchas herramientas, como el que la linea del tiempo global se pueda visualizar directamente en la pagina de entrada o que la agregacion de nuevos contactos sea a un click, etc. fueron para mi muy utiles.

    Por otra parte, el estilo de #plumpio + #diaspora + #friendica + #hubzilla exigen algo mas de curiosidad y capacidad para acostumbrarse a los cambios. Hasta ahora se, que el desarrollo de friendica (lo mismo que hubzilla, #osada y otras mas que no recuerdo ahora) se han centrado en intentar integrar bajo una misma "capa" al maximo de protocolos y servicios.

    Asi con friendica, hubzilla (y otras) podemos no solo conectar con las redes basadas en ActivityPub (mastodon, pleroma, #peertube, #pixelfeld, ...) sino que ademas con otros protocolos #xmpp, #ostatus, #zot, #diaspora, #frdn y #smtp. Y servicios externos como #rss, #twitter, #googleplus (†), #tumblr (una lista bonita, pero incompleta de servicios la podeis hayar en podupti.me y otra mejor en la pagina de los propios proyectos, como friendi.ca).

    ¿Por que me he decidido ahora por friendica?
    - Es un proyecto maduro
    - Ha dado muestras de que busca cierta integracion
    - Es un proyecto activo
    - Ya lo conocia
    - Tiene una comunidad de soporte activo (y no solo de un-solo-hombre)

    @josantleon @titi y si se estudia el número de nodos gana pleroma en cuanto a que federa con #peertube y #misskey por ejemplo.

    Si quieres reducir el #fediverso unicamente a #activepub, entonces tienes razon. PERO si quieres usar la forma mas amplia de #fediverso, como la suma de #RRSS libres que pueden interactuar entre si: #peertube + #gnusocial + #pixelfeld + #friendica + #funkwhale + #wordpress + #readas / #read.as... entonces te quedas corto con tu exposicion.EN lo que se refiere al reduccionismo que implica el termino #gafam, creo que la idea fue simplemente buscar una sigla facil de recordar y que a la mayoria le fuera facil de asociar a las putas empresas.Si por mi fuera, yo habria colocado #GAFIM o #GIFAM o #GIFAMTA en alusion a 2 de las empresas que mas daño hacen a la #privacidad.Tu, en ultima instancia, puedes elegir usar o no el puto #FCKFacebook o #FCKGoogle en cualquier momento, pero NO es tan facil pedirle a la gente que quiten al puto #FCKIntel o #FCKAMD de sus maquinas... y ya todos deberian saber cuanto espian y vigilan tales empresas.
