I appreciate the effort but I think its clear after 7 days he struggles to understand the basics no matter how it is explained to him. Remember he refuses to learn both math and experimental evidence by his own admission.

Now that you mention it I can see that. Its hard to think anyone can just be this far gone, i mean he admitted he didnt know the math yet still acts cock sure about the theory and equations.

So either he is really mentally disturbed and cant sort out reality, or he is so driven by racism that he has a similar problem.

That is possible. I recently had to put a flat earther in his place and its entierly possible this is a sock pocket of that account.

I do agree that it just sounds like he is trying to lead me on though. Its hard to beleive anyone this clueless and cocksure could really exist. Maybe it is all just some troll.

Either way I'm at the point where im going to ignore him unless he wises up and gets his wits about him.

He literally has 2 followers, it is unlikely the science professionals here or on the fediverse will follow him. So he will just be talking to emptiness and probably go away. But ill keep an eye on him and if there is a need to suspend or silence his account it may come to that.

@namark Agreed, though if we are to kick him out it is more likely to do with if he is disrespectful or not, and he has crossed that line a lot. So it is worth considering.

It is very concerning how he talks like a flat earther, asserting things he thinks are true, but known to be false, then making up absurd things proven false many years ago to sell his snake oil.

It certainly isnt the type of people we want as a server of scientists, but I need to be careful how we handle it as moderators.

Though the weird part is he started an account on QOTO a new account, specifically for this conversation. So not sure how that would benefit him on whatever his actual account is out there.

Maybe he wants to establish a following here on QOTO. Sad thing is, I reboost most qoto users who are respectful and have something interesting to talk about. So he could have gotten it through much more effective means.

I agree. I am on the verge of blocking him entierly. or just ignoring him.

Reason i dont is i do have some hope he can recover from his mental probems and might come back to want to learn. I'd imagine given the way he behaves there arent many teachers left who would talk to him. I want him to know that, should he get his act together, he can still reach out to me for answers and learning, just not in his current mental state.

I agree i am giving him **far** more credit than he probably deserves and at this point should just stop responding all together..

Length contraction has been observed indirectly.

Mass increase has been observed directly

But of course you wouldnt know that because even with 100 other people trying to explain this to you (according to you) you never managed to learn even the basic facts;

The difference is that what I describe is what is reality and observed to be true by myself and the whole of the physics community. Flat earthers, not so much.

I have no task other than to ignore you until I beleive investing time into talking to you might result in you learning something.

Either way twitter or mastodon you're getting ads, so damage to you is done either way

In the case of twitter and FB though there are two advantages

1) it is tagged explicitly as an ad, this makes it trivial for ad blockers to remove it from your your timeline. So its in the power to easily remove it from the user, mastodon ads there is no easy way to eliminate them entierly.

2) What money is made on ads goes partly to the platform. So at least instead of all that money being in the pockets of the people advertising it actually goes to improbe the platform, and therefore benefitting us, the users, if that money is spent well.

It alters matter in your own reference frame observing something move through it. Those effects (like length constriction) would not be observed in the reference frame of the moving object (to it you are the on constricted).

It is very real from the observed reference frame.

While there are certainly many other scientists involved, it was einsteins theory that was the foundation for all other theory that led to it. It is his mass energy equivalence equation, which he probed to be true and is a core component of relativity, that allows for nuclear reactions int he first place.

I've asked you to go away several times, I am at the point where I will mute you if you continue. I have very little patience for willful ignorance. I do not suffer fools lightly.

@zeccano Just because you have failed to be intelligent enough to understand 100 people doesnt mean the idea is flawed.

In fact when that many trained professionals try to explain something to you, and you admit you dont even know the basic math needed to understand it int he first place, it should be obvious to even the most inept of us, that it is the result of your own inability to understand, and not their inability to explain it.

Especially considering these are ideas we use to accomplish real world effects on a daily basis and have seen in countless experiments to be true.

@danie10 I never claimed they could pay to get adverts inserted into your home feed. Why should they have to, they get to insert it for free into both your local and federated feed.

I'm not sure its much better knowing they dont get charged to be able to insert their ads into your feeds.

1) he never ran "rings" around einstein. In terms of what each of them accomplished... einstein gave us nuclear power, atomic bombs, GPS, and unlocked many mysteries of astronomy. Things others werent even close to doing.

Tesla mostly played with and designed some neat trinkets, and a few useful devices for working with AC. Very useful and gave rise to many other inventions and insights. But in and of itself, not particularly impressive from a scientific aspect. He really didnt add anything to scientific theory. He just built some things that exploited existing scientific theory, valuable, but not really particularly impressive among the greats of science.

2) Go away, im done with you, im not even reading more than the first stances of your messages anymore because they are so toxic and moronic, again not worth my time.

So stop wasting your own time typing them, no one is reading them past maybe the first sentence.
