I will say I have never seen even a fraction of the level of deplorable behavior there I see here based on the messages i get and replies to my posts. I cant speak for the content on twitter i dont follow though.

@igeljaeger you certainly could do that as well, it would be equally valid. But depends on context. In the case of what I said it would not be applicable because the behavior i describe is most prominant in the Mastodon social media network not in activity pub overall as much.

Thats some serious truth that seems more evident in mastodon than most social media I've been on...

Opting out isnt a problem as long as one of the moderators such as myself stay as a point of contact I suppose sure.

New users autofollow moderators by default. It lets them know who to reach out to when their new to the community.

Are you asking to opt-out of that or did I misunderstand the question?
