    I dislike modern democracy because stuff like that happens. A bunch of idiots vote someone who is obviously evil because they're too dumb to tell or too evil to care, and then good people die by the thousands.

    Regardless of my thoughts on one or another yankee government, I hate populists much more, and I think that, while there are a lot of victims in there too (people who didn't vote Chavez) a majority of that country brought it upon themselves and thus any amount of blood that majority sheds for the sake of liberating the minority that opposed the genesis of that easily predicted disaster is an acceptable cost. If someone is of age and can't tell someone like Chavez will do nothing more than setting the country on fire, that person shouldn't be allowed to vote. And if they can tell and do it anyway, they deserve a worse fate than the hundreds that were killed lately, or all those that starved or died due to lack of medication.

    @hakui @maiyannah Over here it's weird as all the posts of FZP accounts someone is following come through perfectly and with little delay, but it's impossible to make new subscriptions as our server can't reach FZP's to make the connection, and throws an error on the osstatus page. And stuff doesn't get through to there either, so it's likely an issue with FZP rejecting incoming stuff.
    Hopefully someone relays this as I can't repeat on SPC lol

    Idea: have /pol/ and similar places start using a white dove to represent white supremacy, since it's a full white bird. They're used by a lot of humanitarian organizations and seen as a symbol of peace so it's bound to generate some salt.

    @hannes2peer conversation_id is in place to prevent one of the most annoying things we had to deal with back in 2011 when most of the fediverse ran on statusnet: whenever someone deleted a post, the entire conversation tree would crumble and going into context would just show loose messages, or an individual post. It has a good reason to exist and should not be removed unless you want to go back 6 years in development. While it's not an issue for networks focused in ultra-casual, meaningless interaction, it's highly consequential for any node that values extensive and meaningful discussion, and for any implementation of GNUsocial in a work environment where easily following conversations is required.

    I think Trev doesn't get, from his clarification posts, that outside of mastodon the GNUsocial admins in general aren't interested in drama or starting bullcherry, virtue signaling, having martyrs, or any other similar practice. Most of them just offer people to join their node because they enjoy talking to that people.
