@dosnostalgic Baal's DOS port was another one that I thought did surprisingly well at EGA with scrolling, though it's not using the full-screen wrapping method of Keen. It's just kinda efficient, and has a somewhat reduced viewport.

@dosnostalgic I don't know the answer, but now I want to see a video game version of Snatch.

@dosnostalgic AudioGalaxy had the best stuff while it worked, but I feel like eMule stuck around the longest.

@dosnostalgic 🍌 ha ha that company name.

Every version seems to have different music, It got a really great title tune in the Atari ST and Amstrad CPC ports by Jonathan Dunn.

And... some of the original versions were erotic-picture unlocker games. I guess they eventually realized it was a good enough puzzle on its own.

@dosnostalgic Apple IIs were big in schools here in Canada. A whole generation played Oregon Trail at school here, I think.

@dosnostalgic Without the copy protection level the game has such a consistent tone of presentation. When I finally played the "real" version with the copy protect in it, it felt like it completely breaks the spell of the game's setting.

The cracked versions ended up being a better experience.
