@Rosencrantz I'm telling you this because I'm aware that, when foreigners come to live to Spain, one of the hardest lessons they learn is that most Spaniards tend to criticize others very often, but avoid any class of self-criticism. I hope to be making an exception with this toot. In any case, on Mastodon I've found an open-minded community (including Spaniards as well, of course).

@Rosencrantz to be frank, I expected something similar on your part, but if in Spain there weren't curtains and blinds in windows, you'd definitely experience the difference, and how far gossip can go in a society... It's just my opinion... 😉

Facebook is very practical to guess who cares for living life, and who cares more just for telling it to others...

Nordics hardly have blinds in windows at home (and no railings even in the basement). Apart from indicating a low level of criminality, it shows that northern Europeans are respectful with other people lives, and don't like much to gossip

I remember quite often about that classical Greek quote: "If you want to get to know someone, give him/her power"... Very true (and terrifying): sometimes living in society just makes some people conceal their real nature...

The more you travel, the more you realize that in our culture, in our society, and in our world, many things are somehow of relative nature, especially when compared with how other people behave differently. But there're some basics that western societies must always keep and protect, as they lay the foundations of all the rest: freedom, freedom of thought, critic thinking, equality, and respect.

@archero hola, he leído que estabas usando Twidere para acceder a Mastodon. Yo lo he intentado, pero no me salen datos de configuración por defecto, y no se cuales hay que poner por ejemplo en Twidere en la casilla de la URL de la API de Mastodon... Grazie Mille.

@Rosencrantz I do really agree with you, and nothing was farer from my intention than trying to repeat this term in that sense, so much misused by the media and others... In fact, I've read fakenews in the traditional media as well, and of course these were included in the meaning of what I tooted... To be frank, I was thinking of the European scenario, and more concretely of the Spanish one... Thanks for the chance to clarify this, my toot leads easily to a misunderstanding...

@Rosencrantz maybe I just made the mistake to be seized by the mainstream term. If you mean that lies cannot be coined in a term that includes the word news, I do agree with you that it's a clear oxymoron...
