    @feld these are pretty much the problems you're facing with VPN and DNS. (You either leak queries to the local resolver or you don't resolve local hostnames). I'm working on a $thing to at least partially fix that.

    Firefox 63 allows users to block third party Cookies from tracking sites. I've been blocking all third party cookies for years. It has caused issues with login on maybe one or two sites.

    By all means, #movingtogitlab-dot-com does not solve the problem GitHub has (centralization), and moving to a privately hosted GitLab re-introduces the problem GitHub mostly solved (separation).

    #GitPub is trying to solve this problem by defining a federation protocol for git services: https://github.com/git-federation/gitpub
