    @iw según sé la mayoría de nodos permiten hasta 1000 carácteres, tiene grupos, tiene complemento para wordpress, permite la suscripción a blogs, es la semilla de #mastodon... Es un poco más rústica la interfaz (solo una columna, no las muchas de #mastodon)... Para gustos distintos jeje (los clientes para pc funcionales y muy básicos son #yaics y #choqok, para móvil #andstatus). No sé en qué fase irá el desarrollo de #gnusocial

    #AndStatus v.41.01 "Search by a part of a word. Avatars fixed" is released, see https://github.com/andstatus/andstatus/issues/456
    What's new:
    1. Search works for a note's name (title) and a content. You have to launch "AndStatus Settings -> Storage -> Check and fix data" once to rebuild search index in existing local cache.
    2. Added Search and filtering by a part of a word. Now you can type e.g. contains:other to match "other" and "mother" or you can search for contains://andstatus.org/ to filter posts, which contain links in "andstatus.org" domain.
    3. Added (the 6th) option to show a User in timeline as "Real name @webFingerId"
    4. Fixed avatars not showing problem (downloading / reloading and purging). https://loadaverage.org/attachment/4449989

    @eudaimon Regarding #Hubzilla support in #AndStatus. As reported a couple of days ago "the client works almost flawlessly after updating to 3.6 (twitter_api had been previously enabled)" Meaning, after Hubzilla server upgrade.

    Does anyone know if it is possible to use decently any Android client with Hubzilla? I have tried Twidere, following some instructions (Add a Twitter account, change server to https://[hub URL]/api, change auth method to Basic), but does not work well: it does fetch account name and avatar, but it force-closes the app when trying to refresh home timeline. With Andstatus, I just couldn't add an account for this node (hub.disroot.org)

    @eudaimon I really found a bug with getting actors' avatars for actor, which are present in different fediverse instances. #AndStatus could mistakenly ask the wrong host for the actor's information :-( The bug is present since AndStatus started to merge logically actors (and their lists of activities) of different Social networks by their Webfinger Id. The fix will be in v.41

    @eudaimon Regarding my account's selection: if you cannot distinguish accounts by their avatars (when they look the same, like in my case), you can always select them from a list of names.     @eudaimon Not showing some avatar is not a bug, but may be a result of unsuccessful avatar download. "Get Actor information" in the user's/actor's context menu forces #AndStatus to re-download the actor's avatar also. https://loadaverage.org/attachment/4399107

    But I recently added options to limit image cache size, as you wished...

    I found out that #AndStatus v. 40.01 has a bug, crashing its Timeline in a case a User selected "Device default" Color Theme in AndStatus Settings -> Appearance.
    As a workaround before a fix please select the other Color Theme: Dark or Light.
    In order to get into AndStatus settings without opening a Timeline please do the following:
    1. Go to Android Settings -> Accounts
    2. Select any AndStatus account
    3. On the window of the account click "AndStatus account settings" words.
    4. "Select an account" list with accounts inside AndStatus will open.
    5. Don't Select any account, but press Back button on your device instead. 
    6. Now you're in AndStatus Settings. 
    7. Go to Appearance -> Color Theme and select Dark or Light.

    @delores #AndStatus is designed to sync in a background and to allow a User to browse timelines that were downloaded earlier. When you press Sync button, it downloads and stores timelines, users and attachments into a local database first, and only after that it loads the updated timeline from the database.
    As I see, performance is quite acceptable with about 300,000 notes stored locally.

    @hckr I already did this yesterday. Now Back button closes soft keyboard first, and next Back button press closes the Editor and saves the Draft.
    Will be included in the next #AndStatus v.40 update
