ProTip: Remember to check your URLs for "utm_*" parameters

E.G. If I see:
"?utm_source=reddit.com" at the end of the URL you shared, I know you got it from Reddit

Or "utm_campaign=newsletter0120" tells me you probably copied it from an email sent in January of last year

These are never needed to actually reach the page you're sharing. They're just for analytics (UTM tracking modules) and will reveal where you get your information (to us and the site), which may cause privacy issues

It's being sold as a convenience feature, but I think infinite scrolling gets used often to ensure the eyeballs keep rolling

As long as there enough views, platforms will engineer their UIs to keep users on-page as long as possible

There's a small feature that I think plays a disproportionately large role in why so many people seem to be addicted to social media: Infinite Scrolling

When you see numbered pages, or even something like a Next / Previous links, there's an internal boundary marker that gets registered that notifies you that a segment or a content block has ended

This hint is entirely missing in infinite scrolling and it's quite easy to keep going until the battery dies or real life demands immediate attention

The end result is a fresh generation of adults not knowing anything else. The Internet is slowing this a bit

But on a technical front, the office tools really don’t have much competition. E.G. Excel and LibreOffice Calc can’t even be compared on equal footing

Because of the extensive tourism, they built a highway right up to site. And with tourism and traffic come shops. Businesses get money and they build houses and yet more shops, and so on...

The end result is a city which kinda ruins the mood if you want your pyramid photo to have the “lost in the desert” vibe
