@bob I think it's more appropriate to define decentralization in terms of power structures.

Look at Bitcoin: it was supposed to be completely distributed, but then, 10 years later, a single table of 5 people represented 90+% of the whole mining power.

If you look at the Fediverse, and especially at where do the servers run, you might end up with a majority of Amazon servers... That's probably not what we should be calling decentralization.

I can see why normal people just throw their hands up in the air about data privacy. I've put so much effort into this stuff, but instead of feeling like a super-cool guy in a spy movie, I feel more like a guy with a half-working phone and no decent emoji input

Fediverse folx, I'm still looking for a #Job. My focus lays on #Frontend-Development and UX/UI-Design, though I'm a full stack developer and knowledgable in system engineering and DevOps as well. I live in Berlin, am only able to work 15-20h (university), and remote is fine for me as well. My programming languages of choice are Rust, Python, C, Golang and #JavaScript.

Do grocery stores sell coffee in 12-ounce bags?

Twelve ounces is not a pound.

You can get a pound of flour, a pound of sugar, a pound of rice, beans, butter, and any other food item, but not coffee. There are no pre-sorted 16 ounce bags of coffee. If I want sixteen ounces, I have to perform the labor of pouring it from a silo into an empty bag. And that's fine. I honestly don't give a shit.
