@Elizafox I feel like once a project gets to a certain size you always at best end up with a benevolent dictator. We are either going to have someone in that spot that forces their opinions on others are someone who is so "diplomatic" that everything becomes watered down garbage.

We need some sort of democratic structural body.

Selfcare: Asking friendos if htey wanna watch a movie.

Friendcare: Them deciding what movie to watch and setting up the room because you're entirely out of spoons from today.

On mastodon, as in meat space, I see people frustrated by being in a position where they seem dis-empowered, and I think: "we need to get organized".

Imagine if mastodon users belonging to marginalized communities started organizing on Loomio. Everyone discusses concerns and teams of tech writers convey those in issues. Then, teams of programmers write pull requests to address them. Those with monetary means support the effort as are able.

"this is why we can't be nice things" type of commentary when people have brought up their concerns, from a vulnerable position, and you are about to give into it is not helpful at all.

Jeebus...
