    Do you like Mario Kart? Do you like Libre software?

    Then you might like #SuperTuxKart, which lets you race as various FLOSS mascots:

    https://supertuxkart.net

    It includes story mode, time trial, local multiplayer, online multiplayer and lots of mods too.

    It's available for Linux, Mac, Windows and Android.

    @mxuribe

    Previous times this has come up, there hasn't really been a libre way of doing this :(

    Payment systems are very difficult to do without involving large existing companies.

    Yeah, corporations like Google have to have some kind of profit-making incentive to offer such a service.

    Gathering info on people and sites would fit the bill.

    I've never understood why major sites use Google Fonts. Surely they have the capacity to host their own fonts?

    Is there some advantage to letting a third party host them?

    @jlelse @toogley @paulakreuzer

    I just host my own fonts? Is that a terrible thing to do for some reason?

    I feel like I'm doing it wrong but no one says why :blobastonished:

    @switchingsocial looking for something like strava but FOSS and privacy-preserving (ideally, self-hosting instead of posting tracks to someone else's server) - any recommendations? I know there are many apps that record a gpx trail, interested to hear what actually works well in practice. Android for preference

    By far the most common request I get is for alternatives to Google's Re-Captcha.

    The situation is so unclear that I haven't done an alternatives section on the site.

    Do you have suggestions for re-captcha alternatives?

    (I know this has come up before, but the discussions are scattered across many threads which people are failing to find.)

    Wow ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    Libre activists in Albania ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฑ are doing their own version of switching.social (see photo) ๐Ÿ‘

    Switching.social is available under a CC By SA licence, so if you want to do your own version in your own language, please go right ahead!

    There are already versions in French, German, Italian and Turkish:

    It's very annoying.
