Hey, thanks for the offer!
I was really just asking for ideas, don't want to make anyone do unpaid work.
Suggestions good, will consider them π

Thanks for the feedback, I've tried adjusting the cropping (it's a shame Mastodon doesn't let you do this online!), see how it is now:

I've @helueg
I've altered an illustration I did for the ebook which used some icons and used it as the cover photo. See what you think:
Yeah, it's going to vary by user needs and available software I guess.
Let's hope it gets better in the ways you need it to.
p.s. You can also follow many of these alternatives on here:

Adobe Creative Cloud holds creative works hostage: if you stop paying the monthly fee or if Adobe's servers go down, you can't edit your work. Once you buy into the Adobe ecosystem, you're stuck there and forced to pay rent.
There are many free open alternatives which give you full control over your work without locking you down:

This is somewhat similar to tactics used by North Korea's regime to track people:
"(North Korean operating system) Red Star tackles this by tagging, or watermarking, every document or media file on a computer or on any USB stick connected to it. That means that all files can be traced."

Thank you :) It looks nice!
Yeah, it does take some planning.
But a lot of people are in the hashtag habit on here because it's the only way to search.

It's a great idea, but it would require updating so often... would be nice to have something evergreen?
Design people,
Any suggestions for what could be the cover photo on switching.social's profile page?
It looks a bit messy with text on text π

There's libre.fm too, but I'm not sure if it is being maintained.
It's sort of like a free version of last.fm:
@switchingsocial Any alternatives to Spotify's algorithms to find new music for you based on what you listen to?
It's not free or open, but I guess last.fm might be one option?
Commercial music is difficult to do freely due to licensing issues etc. :blobsad:
Mastodon doesn't have a direct system to verify users' identities.
However, if you own a website you can verify your identity as its owner π
1. Go to Preferences > Profile > Appearance
2. Scroll down to "Verification", copy the code and paste it onto the front page of your website
3. Add your website to "Profile Metadata"
4. Click "Save Changes"
That's it!
Your website address should now be verified in green on your profile π

It's not like this is a secret code or anything though, it's just a link to your public profile from your public website?
I can't see how there's any risk in linking from one public page to another?
I'm not sure what you mean?
This isn't an identity verification system, but a site ownership verification.
If the site is well known and/or verified by other means, then it also verifies your identity.
