Don't know much about it, but Booklikes seems to be a closed source site with lots of trackers (Facebook, Google etc).
Yes, there's @mobilizon which will federate through ActivityPub and is due for a first public beta in late October.
By the way, I think the data for books would come from Wikidata, which is the same source already successfully used by @inventaire
I think that is the plan, but bear in mind the project was only begun a few days ago!
This is why it needs people to help out π

"none of the alternatives did *real* real-time sync which turned out to be a deal-breaker for shopping lists (to be fair, even Keep was not very good at it). "
Thanks for the post! I can believe this would be an essential tool in a lot of people's lives, doesn't sound silly!
Keep regularly keeps being mentioned in requests for alternatives.
Aaaaah... so *that's* what this "webfinger" is that people keep talking about.

Are you looking for a free open alternative to Google Keep?
Do you want to sync your notes/to-do lists etc on your phone with your cloud?
There are a couple of good options:
#Carnet
https://getcarnet.app
Follow them at @Carnet
#Joplin
https://joplinapp.org/
Follow them at @joplinapp
They work with personal clouds such as @nextcloud and @ownclouders , and Carnet has its own public cloud too for those who don't have their own one.
Yeah, they are both up to date according to their stats. Maybe it's a bug of some sort.
That's very odd, as far as I can tell diaspodon is updated to 10.2 so it should work :blobsad:
Thank you for the responses so far, apparently you have to use the URL of an account to follow it, so for example:
https://pixelfed.social/earth (including https:// at the beginning)
The @ address apparently won't work, sorry for my post causing confusion.
