Manyverse is an Android app for the Scuttlebutt social network.

Scuttlebutt is very unusual: it has no servers. All the data people share is stored on their own devices, and on the devices of people they share it with.

It's also unusual because it can work off-the-grid, via bluetooth or local wifi.

Manyverse is available from @fdroidorg and Google Play, and there's an iOS version on the way:

PeerTube is pretty good. It has a peer to peer system so if a video goes viral the extra viewers provide the extra bandwidth it needs.

It also federates with the Fediverse, so you can follow PeerTube accounts from Mastodon etc.

You don't need to self-host to use Nextcloud.

There are lots of providers where you can sign up, just like you would sign up for Google Docs, for example https://owndrive.com and https://ocloud.de

Another alternative to Google Docs is @cryptpad

Maps.me is not good for privacy. It was bought by a Russian tech giant a few years ago, and it's full of trackers.

You don't need any particular app or device, it's not locked to anything.

It's a DRM-free ePub file. EPub is a standard open file format that works on lots of apps on lots of devices. (Project Gutenberg uses ePub, for example.)

The download link should be there somewhere.
