  @coloco No, THE network is #Fediverse and the different instances made with Mastodon, #Pleroma, #Friendica, #Hubzilla and others are connected to this network with #ActivityPub. Different instances of Mastodon, Pleroma and so on itself are NOT networks.

    Fediverse (ein Kofferwort aus „federation“ und „universe“) oder Fediversum bezeichnet ein Netzwerk föderierter, voneinander unabhängiger sozialer Netzwerke, Mikroblogging-Dienste und Webseiten für Online-Publikation oder Daten-Hosting. Das Konzept kam 2008 mit GNU Social auf und verbreitete sich 2016 vermehrt mit Mastodon und dem 2018 vom World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) definierten Kommunikationsprotokoll ActivityPub. Konzept Die Idee des „Fediverse“ ist, dass es möglich sein soll, ein Benutzerkonto auf einer beliebigen Plattform im Fediverse anzulegen und sich darüber mit Nutzern auf allen anderen Plattformen austauschen zu können, ohne dort ein weiteres Konto anlegen zu müssen. Ermöglicht wird das dadurch, dass die einzelnen Plattformen mittels bestimmter Kommunikationsprotokolle miteinander verbunden sind und so die föderierte Identität und Inhalte jeweils auf andere verbundene Plattformen und Instanzen verteilt werden. Diese Praxis steht im Gegensatz zu geschlossenen sozialen Netzwerken wie Twitter oder Facebook, bei denen Benutzer ein eigenes Benutzerkonto in jedem der Netzwerke benötigen, wenn sie mit anderen…

  @Hiker #GNUsocial es una red, hay nodos de GNUsocial qie no tienen ActivityPub por tanto no federan con las demqas, entonces no son fediverse y SI es una red.

  @coloco GnuSocial is very old and there is a version which supports ActivityPub, too. The GnuSocial instances which have no ActivityPub can communicate to each others and are counted still the Fediverse and nobody call this am own network (like Diaspora which communicates to Hubzilla and Friendica). So the network is called Friendica and there is no Mastodon network, no Pleroma network, no Friendica network and so on. @GIMP @mkljczk
