I've been thinking about an #ActivityPub implementation for #Wordpress. My idea supports:

- publishing blog posts and comments to ActivityPub-compliant servers, letting users follow/reply to/share/like these via other compliant services
- @-mentioning other ActivtyPub actors (e.g. Mastodon users) in posts and comments
- commenting on posts from Mastodon or other ActivityPub services

#ActivityPub support is now available to everyone! 🎉 🎊 :fediverse:

Write.as blogs don't federate by default, so to enable it you can either sign up with our new page: https://write.as/new/blog/federated, or if you're already on Write.as, go to your blog's Customize page and click "Enable federation"

Note this also includes support for custom domains. So if your domain is hosted with us, you can now choose your handle when you enable federation and your blog will be accessible in the fediverse!

Who wants to work with me and @dajbelshaw, developing the #ActivityPub based #federated back-end for #MoodleNet?

We're looking for a #developer familiar with #Elixir (or transferable skills like #Erlang and #RubyOnRails).

#ActivityPub support is live! You can now follow *Public* Write.as blogs from Mastodon, such as our @blog

It's limited to Public blogs right now (a paid feature) so we can slowly roll this out and plug holes as needed -- once I'm confident things are stable in the next few days, it'll be available to everyone for free.

@kosinus I think we should build a Mozilla Persona for the #Fediverse, and integrate it into as many #activitypub apps as possible.

Users should still be able to use a different provider. In this screenshot there is a centralized provider "apAuth", but the user can provide a URI to another provider.

The UX for logging in with "apAuth" is SO much better than a username/password or BYO provider, I think we need it even if it brings a small amount of centralization around Identity.
