    La última teoría de quién es #SatoshiNakamoto: Bram Cohen, el creador de #BitTorrent

    A finales de 2017 y con el precio del #bitcoin en un alto histórico de 20.000 dólares, Satoshi Nakamoto se convertía en una de las 50 personas más ricas del planeta, aún cuando nadie sabe siquiera si es una persona o varias. Nakamoto es el nombre bajo el que conocemos al creador del bitcoin, pero hasta el día de hoy nadie sabe quien es en realidad.

    Aunque más de un presunto Nakamoto ha aparecido en los últimos años, han terminado calificados de fraude y sin pruebas suficientes. Teorías no faltan, y esta de Mark Essien, un desarrollador nigeriano que publicó su lista de "evidencias" en su blog personal, sugiere que Satoshi Nakamoto es en realidad Bram Cohen, el fundador de BitTorrent.

    #Tribler, el #BitTorrent anónimo "imposible de cerrar" añade su propia #blockchain para premiar a quienes más comparten

    Un cliente BitTorrent anónimo, descentralizado, con la protección que supone usar cifrado como el de Tor, y ahora además con su propia blockchain para saber qué tanto comparten los usuarios y premiarlos de acuerdo a eso.

    Se trata de Tribler, el programa open source para compartir archivos vía P2P que lleva más de una década en desarrollo, y del que hemos hablado antes por lograr crear un BitTorrent anónimo e "imposible de cerrar".

    Gracias a la tecnología #p2p, #bitcoin, #torrent, #bittorrent y ahora #webtorrent, archivos de audio y vídeo pueden ser vistos directamente desde el navegador o desde un programa de PC sin restricción alguna. Esto quiere decir que sitios como play de zeronet son imposibles de censurar o cerrar.

    Te descargas WebTorrent Desktop, es una aplicación de escritorio para reproducir audio o vídeo desde archivos torrent o magnet links. Si deseamos ver una película desde play en zeronet sin tener que descargar la película por completo o mirar un vídeo desde peertube, sólo hace falta abrir el enlace en tal aplicación e inmediatamente comenzará a reproducirse.

    @bob they go on about how #ipfs is NOT a file sharing tool and that Protocol Labs respects "intellectual property" and that #ipfs is DEFINITELY NOT #BitTorrent

    mostly, they are trying to distance themselves from the pirate brand that bittorrent has attached to it

    @bob I was hoping to create an #ipfs competitor that was compatible with #BitTorrent and mainline #DHT, but I think it will be easier to use ipfs as the storage substrate in my mesh system and include a bit torrent app with #grid that way I can take advantage of the momentum they've built up, still have access to the very large BitTorrent content catalog like I wanted, and save myself a lot of effort.

    i've given up on fighting #IPFS because i have more important fish to fry (DM for recipe)

    but i'm still going to give it to Protocol Labs

    this tech WILL be used to make "intellectual property" laws unenforceable. i WILL bring the #BitTorrent stigma to you tech fam

    @h i know about #IPFS read the papers and everything, used it for some projects. still not impressed. gx is a hack imo.

    i think the problem can be solved better with #BitTorrent (and carry along a nice catalog of liberated IP)
