Aprende a programar colaborativamente con #Git jugando a ' #OhMyGit! ', un #videojuego libre al que tú mismo puedes contribuir

Git fue creado en 2005 por el mismo Linus Torvalds (el creador de Linux) como herramienta para facilitar el desarrollo colaborativo de software. Desde entonces han surgido incluso populares plataformas, como GitHub o GitLab, que permiten su uso online.

El problema es que es una herramienta que puede no resultar lo bastante intuitiva en un primer momento para el usuario inexperto. Por eso, un par de desarrolladores se han propuesto ayudar a clase de usuarios a comprender su funcionamiento… mediante un videojuego.

Y el resultado ha sido Oh My Git!, un proyecto financiado por el Prototype Fund, un programa del Ministerio alemán de Educación para impulsar el desarrollo con código abierto.

@lohang I don't like real-time collaborative writting. I prefer the revision based approaches (wikis such as #Wikipedia, @libreoffice document versions or revision control systems such as #Git or #Kallithea (also works with Git but allows web based contributions).

@dym @sir One note is that #Git isn't a #GNU project and if by purism you mean "one tool to do one thing and be the best at it", this is related to #Unix #philosophy and, while #GNU's ideas emerged from it in order to replace Unix, GNU is Not Unix (GNU), and so doesn't need to follow that philosophy.

@dym @sir One has to keep in mind that #Git was never designed to be used without #email (and it's rare to see any revision control system that isn't based on email). Of course, new workflows are welcome, but many projects don't provide ways to send stuff by email for unregistered users of a given repository host and don't provide in the hosted files a way to contact head of the project by email so to send suggestions or issues.

@jbauer Great! 👍 #Email was and is the way that most revision control systems (not just #Git) work with, and also, in some cases, no extra account is need and review approval can also be set by email too. It's rare to get free/libre documentation teaching how to use `git format-patch`, `git am` or `git apply`.
