Yeah, that could be a issue.
Honestly - I have never ever used the 'dm' feature, and I have no idea if it even works in #yaics . I was thinking about disabling it, or at least make it optional.
But I now think you are on to something, that could be the issue indeed.

@hikerus thanks for putting it there, makes it easier to track. I have replied there.
Also - I will now make a 'nightly' release of #yaics , in-between the stable releases.
This means that 'nightly' will always be compiled with the latest commit on the source server.
This makes it easier for me to not have to make releases so ofte. I'll see if I can autobuild them somehow later on, but for now I'll just make them myself when needed.
I'll do that tonight and update the download info etc.

@hikerus Uploaded a new precompiled windows version of #yaics now, v 0.6-1 .. Fixed the bug @dtluna mentioned (segfault due to maxnumstatuses being stored as 0) and fixed the saving\loading of the status window size.
I'll generate the .deb files tomorrow.
I have updated the links on the site also.

I have uploaded the latest windows version of #yaics , the link can be found at : https://gitlab.com/stigatle/yaics
Deb packages will be built later tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks to @hikerus for the feature requests and improvement suggestions for this release.
More things are on my to-do list, I will now try and work on it more steadily then before.
As always - any issues, let me know.
-
Thanks for testing and mentioning the things you did, I'll fix the status window size and a couple of other bugs over the weekend.
Feels nice to code on #yaics again.
I have filed the bugs here:

I'm having trouble making #yaics run properly on #Centos 7, the GUI fails to load properly, and it segfaults when I configure the settings. I have to figure that one out.
-
Did not have time to code yesterday due to spending 12 hours at the office, today I got home on time, so when kids go to bed I'll code some on #yaics (looking into a bug) and code on my exporter for blender. Hopefully I can get something done on both.
-
Is it just me or are 'notifications' stuck on quitter.no ? it started yesterday. I think it worked fine with #Yaics client, but not in browser. Yesterday it gave a ajax error, but today it just hangs - not showing newer notifications in the browser.. CC / @knuthollund

Found one more bug last night in #yaics , its eiter due to corrupt preview image file or it is too large and that is causing the crash. Either way it should be possible to fix fast, I will work on that tonight and prepare the release tomorrow.
-
Fixed that #yaics issue where it flickered in the gui during status updates.
I will tag a new release on Sunday, and create packages for Debian x64\mipsel - other precompiled packages to follow later on.
I will also now look into 'snap' packages.

I will work on #yaics tonight, got a couple of bugs I need to fix before a new release, it seems a bit unstable on windows with the latest QT, and when some widgets for statuses are created they appear briefly as a small window, that will then steal focus from what ever app you are running.
I find that last bug there very annoying. I'll see if I can get it fixed today.

@jansegers I do not use mastodon :) - but maybe I should write about the GNUSocial client I maintain , #yaics https://gitlab.com/stigatle/yaics
I could do that, write about how I came to develop on it, and what I've added and so on. That would work.

And for those who do not know what #yaics is, take a look here:

This weekend I'm preparing #yaics for a new release. Also I feel now it's good enough (with the current features) to try and get it into debian repos.
I'll spend time this weekend for this.
I'll write here when the repo has been tagged and update for release.
I will generate the deb's for x86\64, mipsel and for raspberrypi (raspbian), and windows when I'm done with the different GNU\Linux versions.

Hi #yaics users.. After little activity on the code for that I have now started working on the things that needs to be fixed, I just pushed some code that lets you set the maximum number of statuses to how in the timeline at once, this can be configured in the config window, It will prevent yaics from freezing up after running for a long while.
Also I have decided to remove the image preview webwidget, this is done so that It can be compiled with latest QT LTS, I will now rewrite the image preview code so that it uses the same type of widget as the avatar image, This means the webkit\widget is no longer needed.
When I tag the next release the image preview will be rewritten.
If you want to test the new feature, then get the code and compile. Please let me know how it goes, and if there are issues - report them in the bugtracker or let me know.
You find the code etc here:
