Yeah, I guess it will already stream the original upload while it's still transcoding in the background - if I hand out the link directly.

In all seriousness though: I've uploaded it 20 minutes ago, so the queue shouldn't be empty?

Empty?! My video should already be in there then! 😆

Okay, I'll move my video(s) to peertube.social for the 1GB limitation of peertube.video alone.
Let's see how long it takes to transcode over there.

Finally! My video has just been published, and if you're interested in a bit of #golang hacking and/or care about docker & backups, you can watch it here:

(Yes, I'm aware that the chat ended up covering my terminal a bit, and I should probably increase the fonts some more. Sorry about that, lesson learned for the next video!)

I'd love to hear how you've configured your X setup to achieve that.

5 hours later and the video is still transcoding. I guess I'm looking for a new peertube instance at this point.

I guess your displays are close enough in the DPI range then. Because you simply can't use them with varying DPI scaling settings and X right now.
Which is tough when you're trying to connect a 4K display to a 13" notebook.

The resolutions only have a real meaning with the screen size in relation to them. If you require different DPI settings per screen, you'll need to switch to Wayland, as X.org doesn't support that.
Same experience here otherwise: KDE/Plasma usually works best with fractional scaling, but you won't get that from GTK apps, as that's not supported by GTK.
To sum up: i3 won't help here either, I'm afraid.

Using multiple displays with pretty different DPIs?

That 46 + 46 + 9 doesn't add up to 100% is an entirely different matter that needs be discussed.

46 people voted in my last poll. 46% said I should stream on YouTube, 46% think I should stream on Twitch.
9% of you think 46-46-46 sounds really funny and I'm rather lame.

I agree, it certainly is. Maybe it's just too early for public peertube instances. It just doesn't scale well enough (yet).

I may sound a little grumpy this morning, but I really can't wait for the day when I can finally go to the cinema again and watch a movie other than the latest Marvel/DC scurrility. I've really seen enough of these superheroes now.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, not running my own instance here: trying out a few peertube instances like .video & .social right now.
