@hardbass2k8 @shpuld I think the problem is we've become surrounded by an overabundance of highly addictive stimuli that is easier to acquire. This is the same reason (in part) why people are participating less in things like clubs and other organizations that used to be extremely popular. -

Also there's a persistent lie going around the Right that Tor has never spoken out against child pornography on their network, and that Tor discussed adding censorship to their service in their ticket system.
The former, literally every single talk that any Tor member does, someone brings up child pornography, and that Tor member denounces it. You can watch any talk on youtube for proof of this.
They spoke out against Daily Stormer because it was prominent in the news, that's all.
Second, someone made a ticket in their ticketing system, demanding the ability to block sites they don't like. The discussion went back and forth for several posts, and the entire time Tor devs explained why such a feature would not work well, and that they were never going to add it anyway. -

I don't know what to say re "doxing" of rally marchers via social media, a couple years ago people were grappling with social media mobbing behavior. Compare the attitude of the people going after reddit for trying to find the boston bombers, actual terrorists, compared to the twitter and facebook mob going after a dentist who hunted a lion. It was bad when 4chan and Reddit did it, but it is good when Twitter and Facebook do it. because its normies I guess.
This stuff should be opposed for any reason because it is mob behavior and because it lets individuals off the hook for mistaken info, which gets people hurt. -

part of the problem is that there's social credit and no cost for just making the nazi designation as expansive as possible, if someone is crude and just doesn't give a shit and makes an anne frank joke, an intelligent person can tell the difference between them and a nazi. but online you might as well call them aa nazi because why not, now you're cool for standing up to a nazi, who definitionally are bad, dangerous people. good for you, you're a badass who made a difference.
this is completely different thing than opposing actual nazis, like guys with flags who show up at rallies. -
