@dosnostalgic@dmbaturin I remember a day in fourth grade here in Brazil when students were asked to bring a Bible from home to school for an activity. I didn't have one, so I just watched amused as the teacher asked the students to look things up and they couldn't agree on stuff because their versions were so different.
YES — I finally found an almost-ultimate version of CANYON.MID played with live instruments — (it would have been the ultimate version if it had live drums!)
[yes, I've seen the Smash Brothers version already — would have loved to see that live, but their arrangement is not my cup of tea]
I've always been a bit skeptical about people saying that getting into Mastodon is hard.
Then I've watched as my non-techie sister tried to get into Mastodon on her own using her phone and the official mobile app.
It was NOT a smooth experience, including UX issues and downright bugs. Ultimately I had to help her and both of us had a hard time picking a suitable instance, but finally succeeded.
I took some notes of the overall process, but not sure what to do with them.
@dosnostalgic I played a ton of Mario 35 during the pandemic, but those were exceptional circumstances AND it was based on a game I played when I was 12!
@dosnostalgic I never knew that SID chip on PC was ever a thing! Did any well-known games support it? Curious to check if there's any SID arrangements out there for any game soundtracks that I'd recognize
@dosnostalgic I'm still processing the fact that whoever tracked this MIDI file back in the day thought it was a good idea to start it with a single sustained 7-second high note. Even if the original song starts like this, they must have known that without any articulation it would just sound like a track was stuck...
