Are there plans for !gnusocial to add the new #ActivityPub protocol?
-
#AndStatus used to work brilliantly, but in the latest update, it's decided that direct messages are the default time line. When I'm lookin at the home timeline, when it downloads 180 or so new posts, instead of starting with the oldest one, it jumps to the newest one, so I have to scroll down a bunch and then back up. 2017-06-23 v.34.01 (221)

Trying to fix my !gnusocial image embedding problem, I've moved to a fresh install of the nightly build and run the following commands:
scripts/stopdaemons.sh
git pull
cd plugins/Qvitter/
git pull
cd ../../
php scripts/upgrade.php
php scripts/checkschema.php
php scripts/clean_file_table.php -y
php scripts/delete_orphan_files.php -y
php scripts/remove_duplicate_file_urls.php -y
php plugins/OStatus/scripts/fixup-shadow.php
php scripts/fixup_deletions.php
php plugins/OStatus/scripts/update_ostatus_profiles.php -a
php plugins/Oembed/scripts/fixup_files.php
php scripts/clean_thumbnails.php -y
php scripts/upgrade.php
scripts/startdaemons.sh
Still no luck. This is not a mastodon compatibility issue, since the image I posted to this account is also not embedding correctly.
The oemebed plug in enabled via the GUI. Should there be something about it in the config.php file?

I am still having a problem where my !gnusocial server is not loading images posted by mastodon users. I have (finally) just updated to the nightly build and it has not solved the problem. I have the oembed plugin enabled. Is there some setting I may have wrong?
-
Actually, in this post https://mastodon.xyz/users/0x5021/updates/146541 neither !qvitter or 'old' !gnusocial are loading the image on my instance.

@zapataz The problem with doing this by IP is that there are starting to be turnkey fediverse instances on shared services. I don't want to accidentally blacklist reasonable.discussion because they happen to have the same IP as spamming.jerks

I'm looking for a plugin that lets admins block whole other domains on !gnusocial. I know this is controversial, but some of the content coming from some servers is illegal in my country. And, as the fediverse grows in popularity, it's inevitable that spam will follow. I know some devs do not want this in the core project, hence, why I'm looking for a plugin.
Does such a plugin exist?

@mmn Is this something that could be done via the plugin architecture? !gnusocial

Is there a way to suppress some classes of notifications from the !gnusocial timeline? I'd like to stop displaying who my users are following and what they are liking, so the timeline can focus on more interesting content.
I read the helpfile for the config options an it doesn't seem to be there.

I'm having problems with some remote servers not being able to follow users on my !GNUsocial server. It works for quitter.no, for example, but fails with mastodon and some friendica servers. Mastodon servers don't show up at all in the apache logs.
If anyone has suggestions about how to debug this or can give me traceback on following @testing, I'd be extremely grateful.

@andstatus there's two possibilities. One of which is that I got you confused with mustard (sorry) or the other that f-droid's listing of permissions was more detailed and therefore more alarming. This is a good app. I'm getting an instance up and I'm going to link to you, as most of my users will be (like me) new to the fediverse.
