    @jdormit In order to test your plugin, there should be at least one server that supports client-to-server part of the #ActivityPub protocol. Do you know any? (I also want to make my #AndStatus an ActivityPub client)

    #AndStatus v.41.01 "Search by a part of a word. Avatars fixed" is released, see https://github.com/andstatus/andstatus/issues/456
    What's new:
    1. Search works for a note's name (title) and a content. You have to launch "AndStatus Settings -> Storage -> Check and fix data" once to rebuild search index in existing local cache.
    2. Added Search and filtering by a part of a word. Now you can type e.g. contains:other to match "other" and "mother" or you can search for contains://andstatus.org/ to filter posts, which contain links in "andstatus.org" domain.
    3. Added (the 6th) option to show a User in timeline as "Real name @webFingerId"
    4. Fixed avatars not showing problem (downloading / reloading and purging). https://loadaverage.org/attachment/4449989

    @kris I suspect you are using last year's version of #AndStatus. Currently in order to see an attachment in your favorite photo viewer you just need to click that attachment-image. Current version is 40...
    Regarding a menu that you don't understand. This fully depends on you if it will become better: just start detailed discussion with concrete subjects... Although "I don't get it" like in "Big" movie with Tom Hanks is better than nothing, thank you for this :-)

    @andstatus Ok, I found something else, which I didn't notice yesterday: in my home timeline only my sent messages and the messsges which mention me appear. There are none from the people I "follow", though it is not an exact term in Hubzilla. In hubzilla there are relationships with different degrees of closeness, and you can chose which range you want to be shown at a certain moment. I would expect to appear all of them. However, I read somewhere a more precise description of this, and the difficulty of translating "relationships" in hubzilla to the "following" and "followed by" concepts and uses of other networks. For example, hubzilla has this thing called nomadic identity, which allows to have two accounts in different servers to behave exactly as if they were the same. I am quite new to Hubzilla, so I can't explain in detail what this exactly means, or understand the implications for a client such as #Andstatus

    Currently I have seen two bugs in @andstatus: avatars for the different accounts on the left bar do not always appear, which makes chosing an account a guess (it usually appears the default avatar). I manage currently 3 accounts: this hubzilla one, a mastodont and a GNU Social. Currently only the hubzilla account shows its avatar correctly. The other bug is a permanent temp message on top of hubzilla home timeline (not in other networks).

    @eudaimon First of all, I would start from asking existing users of that server (via web interface) if any of them succeeded in connecting to it via #AndStatus. Or maybe via other client application. So you could ask for correct settings (screenshot...)

    @surge Twitter-like API that GNU Social uses, does require something to be put into note's text. The server responds with the error in a case no text provided: 'Client must provide a 'status' parameter with a value.'
    The only solution that I know is to put at least a dot into a text field. Does anybody know anything better?

    In particular, Mentions timeline is replaced by Interactions...
    Regarding slow work right after upgrade: this is expected, because after main database modifications several long running "data fixers" are started, which fully complete the upgrade.
