@dwmatiz Attachments to your post are not accessible... but I understand what you noticed: additional padding is shown, when an image with unordinary width/height proportions is loaded asynchronously. AndStatus reserves a blank place for it, not knowing actual dimensions yet, and shows actual image a bit later, after it has been loaded into memory.
This could be improved, of course... -

@megver83 Follow and Stop following actions are in User lists, not in Timelines (message lists). E.g. Select "Users of message" item in the Message's context menu -> See a list of users -> Select a User and open his Context menu -> See Follow/Stop following actions -

@maiyannah Yes, please provide a screenshot.
BTW, I tried to lookup this conversation from three different GNU Social instances: none of them holds any messages in this conversation, except yours :-) -

@shnoulle AndStatus has good modularity, which allows to add new APIs quite easily. So no wander that someone plays with this. The main strategic question is: why create another subpar client API, when there is a clear (albeit not that easy to implement...) way to implement far more powerful one, which would support federated architecture of GNU Social. -

@shnoulle I don't know about ostatus - this is a server to server protocol. What's about client protocol, Mastodon developer just decided to creat his own protocol. It's not better than GNU Social's, from a client point of view. It's just different :-( -

@hier No, Mastodon is incompatible with AndStatus, because nobody implemented corresponding AndStatus extension so far -

@semidigni It's really interesting. I thought that what you just described as "The whole known network" in Quitter actually IS "Public timeline" in the GNU Social's client API and in AndStatus. -

In order to make "Days from today" column look better, I right-aligned numbers in that column https://loadaverage.org/attachment/3514860 -

@indojin This option is not directly related to secure connection. Leave it as "Auto" if that works. -

Calendar Widget for Android got a new compact and clear "Single line" layout, see the screenshots https://github.com/plusonelabs/calendar-widget/issues/42#issuecomment-289261236
To be honest, I dreamed about something like this since the first day I joined this Open Source project two years ago :-) Looking at what this layout brings to us, I don't understand, why I didn't do this earlier. Probably I thought that addition of an alternative layout would be a too hard task for me... but it took a working day only.
This is only one of several recent improvements of the Calendar Widget, available at Google Play and f-droid. These changes are not released yet, but as a Source code is freely available, you can start playing with them right now https://github.com/plusonelabs/calendar-widget -

@drymer The text that you copied doesn't show error message. But it looks like network level error. You should diagnose https connection with some tool... -

@sonyam pump.io has private messaging, followers-only posting, federated identity so you can run around on other servers and comment using your home id, the API is lightweight and very consistent and understandable in comparison with GS+Qvitter (I hear), and it's the basis for the Next Big Thing, #activitypub.
pump.io was built in a few months by one guy though, and GS was built in a couple of years by several full-time people, so there are still quirks in the (actually intentionally) limited web UI. pump.io works best with a client.
@andstatus does a decent job. I'm not going to complain, because I still didn't file those bugs since last I complained, so the buck is with me. It's mostly about message formatting, other than that it's an awesome client for both GS and pump. -

@indojin Very funny "privacy" :-) You are sending your messages to the Internet as the same User, where your posts can be tracked and analyzed (if somebody would care...) but you obfuscate your Username inside your own device for yourself and for applications, which _you_ installed and for which you personally gave permission to read accounts... Actually, if some application can read your account name, it can read data, which is stored with this account...
Since Android 6.0 accounts protection was tightened: application doesn't need such a dangerous permission to read its own accounts...
Conclusion: this feature of Twidere doesn't look like substantial privacy enhancement. In order to protect your privacy inside your device I would recommend to use device-wide protection measures (including Android upgrades and careful selection of applications) instead of such kludges inside individual applications. -

@indojin "Username" cannot be changed - this is a name used to authenticate you on a server. E.g. "indojin"
In a User profile on a server there is also a "Real name", which may be changed freely. That name in your case now is "भारतीय" Do you mean _that_ name? -

@indojin You mean that it's inconvenient for you to switch account via Navigation drawer or Act As... in a Context menu?!
Please clarify actual usage scenario :-)
