Better filtering of local and federated timelines.

One advantage of Mastodon is that you can hear people you don't know, but there's much noise.

There's a gray area between following and muting/blocking.

Allow to move users and domains to a "low priority" or whatever timeline. Kind of muting, but with the option to see what you are missing and change opinion.

Mastodon grows, the path is correct, but it's not 10x better that Twitter if you ignore the "it's free software and federated" aspect which only some of us consider a value in itself.

That can be communicated differently, as in "every community has it's own rules and it's super easy to create one", but while the first half is true the second not so much, it's certainly not reddit, although services like masto.host help and maybe they could be given more visibility (not affiliated!)

The Payola model (you hear in the radio what the Industry pays the radios to play) is adapting to new times. The music industry would like you to give up the control, to trust algorithms that they can manipulate, as long as the selection is acceptable you won't notice much that some bands you like never play and that you hear others because they are promoted.

But the algorithm fails, and they try to fix it by invading your privacy even more
