Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Saturday, 16-Dec-2023 23:42:17 UTC Bernie @nyte @mw Indeed, I recently had an issue with my Lemur Pro, and interacting with #System76 support was quite a hassle even within the USA.
Aren't there any Linux-friendly laptop makers in Europe?

Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Saturday, 16-Dec-2023 22:34:53 UTC Bernie I asked Bard to look at my picture and explain the instructions step by step.
Not bad, Bard! Are you already on Gemini Pro?

And, sure enough, there were no raisins on piece number 5! ๐คฉ

Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Saturday, 16-Dec-2023 22:17:54 UTC Bernie Last time I was in Japan, my friend Yoko bought a Rikuro cheesecake with raisins.
Yoko's husband Yutaka doesn't eat raisins, but the box has specific instructions for him:
๏ผ็ชใฏใใใใผใใใใใใผใฏใใใฎใพใพๆฎใใใใคใฌใผใบใณใๅ ฅใฃใฆใใชใใใผใบใฑใผใญ
Number 5 is a cheesecake with the Rikuro Uncle mark left intact, and without raisins. ๐ฒ

Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Saturday, 16-Dec-2023 14:14:58 UTC Bernie In the latest #RurouniKenshin episode, I heard Megumi say:
ๆฐใซใชใฃใใใๆฅใกใใฃใใ
kininnatta kara kichattaThe first word is the past-tense of ๆฐใซใชใ (to be on one's mind, to be worried):
https://jisho.org/word/%E6%B0%97%E3%81%AB%E3%81%AA%E3%82%8BThe last word is ๆฅใ (to come), but with the ๏ฝใกใใ suffix in the past tense (๏ฝใกใใฃใ), adding a nuisance of coming "accidentally", or just passing by.
So the whole sentence means: "It's been on my mind, so I passed by".

Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Friday, 15-Dec-2023 12:55:13 UTC Bernie I can't believe that a product from Meta is going to interoperate with the #fediverse:
"Our vision is that Threads will enable you to communicate with people on other fediverse platforms we donโt own or control. This means that your Threads profile can follow and be followed by people using different servers on the fediverse."

"It requires AGA because the original game has 16 banks of 16 colors and a 256 color palette which is - added - dynamic. So ECS port would be quite tricky without rewriting the whole game."In conversation from mstdn.io permalink -

Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Monday, 11-Dec-2023 02:52:32 UTC Bernie My experience of switching to a new Android phone gets smother year after year.
Today, all the messaging apps I use support a reasonable flow for transferring account data and chat logs.
Hopefully one day they will converge to a single, system-wide mechanism for transferring account data securely on initial setup.

Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Friday, 08-Dec-2023 15:25:48 UTC Bernie @deepskies @root42 I learned to code in BASIC on the #C64, then switched to an #Amiga 500, on which I started learning C.
The CPU on which I learned the most was definitely the 25MHz 68040 of my Amiga 4000. By this time I was in high-school, old enough to start coding seriously on AmigaOS.
This machine also ran a #FidoNet BBS and, later, #NetBSD.
This is the original CPU card of my A4000, photographed last week during a restoration with my friends. And, yes, it still works perfectly! โค๏ธ
