@fribbledom as someone whos company is testing Discord as an alternative platform for their community (OK currently it's Basecamp so hardly great 😝), I am a tad concerned about probably missing 90% of all new posts and messages!
@fribbledom and in the tradition of finding online relevant articles on highly specific topics: https://www.groomingwise.com/what-does-wd40-smell-like/ It does however read rather like something an AI would have come up with, so lacking is any real facts but worth a look.
@fribbledom this is an interesting one, depending on your angle, I've worked on IT customer support and although ideally all tickets should be updated within X time, in reality this doesn't happen unless it's chased by customer, in dev world it's often impossible for end user to know whether the issue/project is too busy, uninterested or just dormant/dead, issues need to be visible in the queue of all issues/requests so people don't have to ask. I've dropped using many apps due to dormancy.
@jartigag@slimbook for sure it's a faulty socket/"dry joint" (solder connection to mobo) if they haven't managed to resolve it yet, it's a basic design problem, power plug can move the socket too much, breaking solder joint, that's my suspicion anyway. Slimbook really need to step up here and fix this or an early bad repute may result in early demise of company!
@jartigag jaja! That is one way to stop them! A few other basic things to secure any webserver: ensure you have port 22 closed on router (use port forwarding instead if you must SSH in directly), set up SSH keyed login, use OpenVPN to access your server network instead and setup fail2ban to manage all blocking, no manually adding IPs to block lists! https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/security.md
