Je partage la citation qu'un poto ma envoyer

C'est marrant, plus on est pauvre, plus on doit se farcir d'incitation à dépenser. Ne jamais subir de pub est un signe extérieur de richesse.

I share a citation that a friendo has sent me.

It's funny, the poorer you are the more you are asked to spend.
Never receiving ads is a sign of richness.

"Microsoft's security team has come across a malware family that uses
Intel's Active Management Technology (AMT) Serial-over-LAN (SOL) interface as a file transfer tool. The problem with Intel AMT SOL is that it's part of Intel's ME, a separate chip inside Intel CPUs that runs its own OS and stays on even when the main CPU is off."

This is getting monotonous. All these AMT exploits, ...
    Why did nobody listened ?

@fsf I caution against that argument, as it hinges entirely on a legitimate (bug) security vulnerability---it could have happened with GNU/Linux systems as well. It made use of ETERNALBLUE which exploits a Samba flaw (now known as CVE-2017-0144). It's unfortunate, but the conversation would naturally degrade to Linus's Law, which itself is a faulty open source argument---one could use Heartbleed and Shellshock to counter (where the single points of failure are two of the most widely used free software projects in the world).

Microsoft had even released a fix, but people didn't upgrade. That's a problem regardless of whether software is free.

While it's tempting to poke holes in our enemies, I can't find a good excuse to attack Windows for being exploited by ETERNALBLUE or WannaCry. But I'd be more than happy to attack it for many of the other points your link mentions (https://www.fsf.org/windows). One big difference between exploiting Windows vs. GNU/Linux is that Windows already is a virus---it didn't need WannaCry to hold its users for ransom. ;)

Disturbing news when I woke up this morning I had.
Freedesktop.org has decided to put themselves under the contributor Covenant a horrible CoC that easily justifies power grabs.
    https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/CodeOfConduct/
Not only this license permits unethical actions towards someone but it's also a simple aberration if you have some basic knowledge in laws.
A good recent example of this is what happened with the drupal community.
Where the so called tolerance of their CoC didn't withstand their distorted ideologies and forced someone to be removed from the project.
    https://web.archive.org/web/20170325011911/https://www.garfieldtech.com/blog/tmi-outing
CoCs are to me exactly the same kind of justifications that were used to remove our freedom after 9/11 or other terror attack.

I would like to remember the wize words that EsR has written some time ago either because of some direct and despicable events or because of some simple logic.

Knowing how Gargon interacted with people.
The modifications did with the fork.
The tricks used in the mastodon interface to make people stay.
There's people behind all this now.
Maybe not in the beginning I think Gargon just did the fork because he wanted to do it.
But you know human greed and stuff mess up people.

Seeing these terms, he didn't come up with them himself and aren't here for no reasons.
These are the generic redundant terms that you can also see in discord for example:
    https://discordapp.com/privacy
For the influx of users either Gargon had a lot of money to spend very quickly or he's sponsored just like discord who was sponsored to 20+ millions, or he isn't sponsored and is thinking he's making a good investment trading with one or more of these diverse companies:
    https://loadaverage.org/url/3523927
Either way there's no good end to this.

    • Black Cat ^^
--what kind of information can Google actually get by using one of their fonts--
    A lot actually.
    First they get your IP.
Second they get your web browser fingerprint.
Third they get the website your were on.
Fourth they will automatically do some cross website analytic with the other websites your IP and web browser fingerprint were flashed on.
You have a unique ID attributed to you and and more than 3500 entities (registered middle 2016) will buy and sell whatever they can acquire from your ID even if they don't know what to do with it yet.
This is commercially called #BigData or less commonly #DataMining or more logically #spying.
You could say that you don't care about this, that you have nothing of value or more likely nothing that will influence your life.
And I will ask you "Are you sure about that ?" can you tell the future ? Do you know witch laws will be made in the future ?
Do you know what will be reprimanded or not ?
Fortunately people have done a great and precise work about today's use of data and even meta-data to help you understand what is happening and in what direction the internet is heading.
So I suggest that you watch the conference of #33C3 about Corporate surveillance, digital tracking, big data & privacy.
    https://media.ccc.de/v/33c3-8414-corporate_surveillance_digital_tracking_big_data_privacy
And more recently @mikegerwitz was at libreplanet 2017 and made a nice conference that correlates with our discussion.
    See:
    https://media.libreplanet.org/mgoblin_media/media_entries/1529/144_7_gerwith.webm
Please watch them it is very important for you to understand what is happening.

Has for mastodon and the exaggeration that you suggest.
I predicted the datamining of mastodon some time ago because of the repetitive unethical actions of it's maintainers either if it was censoring or the fact that their was little sharing of the knowledge/documentation which makes the creation of other mastodon instances very difficult without the approval of the developers of mastodon.
It would also be better if mastodon wouldn't break the standards already established by Ostatus and more but there is already other forks like PostActive or the Plemora frontend that doesn't break the GS federation.
That is why I encourage the creation of lots of small instances of GS instead of making another twitter/tumblr which mastodon seems to have taken the path off.

I suggest that you look at the map of the fediverse there is a lot of instances other than mastodon if you are motivated.
    http://www.fediverse.org/

I suggest to anyone to look at the unofficial guides that multiple maintainers and volunteers of GS helped to make so that people can with more ease make other instances.
    https://karp.id.au/social/en/index.html

I hope this responds to your questions.
I wish you a good day.
