In case you missed it, there's a free open Fediverse alternative to Reddit under construction called Prismo:
You can try the first instance at:
https://prismo.xyz/auth/sign_up
The idea is that each instance is the equivalent of a subreddit, dedicated to a particular topic.
Prismo federates with ActivityPub so you can follow Prismo accounts from Mastodon etc. (The federation isn't completed yet though, so some features are missing.)
It's good to see, I hope more big sites do articles like this.
The more people hear about alternatives from several different sources, the more likely they are to try them.
@switchingsocial Don't forget Microblog.pub.It's a great piece of software,especially if you only need a single user blog with not that much features which works just fine to deliver your information but nothing more.I use it for my blog and I'm very happy with it.You can find the repository at https://github.com/tsileo/microblog.pub and I have a fork of it with another design which is optimized for longer posts at https://notabug.org/nipos/nikisoftblog
Mastodon is now on the translation platform Crowdin. So far it seems like a much better interface for translating
You can help by either submitting translations or proofreading existing ones!
I'm not a developer, I don't know. Sorry.
The Plume git is here:
https://github.com/Plume-org/Plume
The Write Freely git is here:
https://github.com/writeas/writefreely
They might have the info you want?
The plugins take an existing Wordpress blog and allow people to subscribe to it from the Fediverse.
Write Freely and Plume are more like alternatives to Medium, where the focus is on the text rather than the layout.
p.s. Does anyone know which account to follow for Plume development? The previous one ( @BaptisteGelez ) doesn't seem to work any more?
Want to run a blog on the Fediverse, which people can follow from Mastodon etc?
There are several platforms which let you do this:
Write Freely
https://writefreely.org/
@write_as
Plume
https://joinplu.me/
ActivityPub plugin for Wordpress
https://wordpress.org/plugins/activitypub/
@pfefferle
Pterotype plugin for Wordpress

@jdormit
Absolutely not.
Brave is part-owned by Peter Thiel (the head of Palantir) and its business model is based around selling ads, not blocking them.
Quote from Brave's business-oriented website promoting its cryptocurrency:
"The Brave browser knows where users spend their time, making it the perfect tool to calculate and reward publishers with BATs."
I've boosted the original post 👍
What desktop Mastodon client are people using? I mostly use Tootle but it's simply too bugy; I'm tired of it. Is there anything else that is not some electron trash?

Oh wow, it's on F-droid:

Does anyone know what browser it's based on?
@switchingsocial
What is a good browser to use on android?
Brave sounds good, but not.
Chrome... Is, well.. G.
Firefox?
Firefox seems the least worst option right now, for non-technical people at least.
There are also some indie browsers (including variants of Firefox) that people have had good experiences with.
