The #Manjaro live image booted quickly and effortlessly in UEFI mode, bringing me to a plain #KDE #Plasma desktop (which is good).

The kernel in the live image is 5.15.60 (an LTS kernel), and KDE is 5.24.6, which is quite outdated.

As expected, WiFi, GPU and sound work perfectly out of the box. If this isn't your usual experience, learn to pick your hardware more wisely, or stop using outdated distros.

I'm downloading #Manjaro with the #Plasma desktop.

It's one of the few #Linux distros that positions #KDE and #GNOME on the same level, and I want to see how's the out-of-the-box user experience.

Something I've always wanted is the ability to drag the border between two tiled windows. Windows 10 has had this for years, and finally it's also coming to KWin.

@berryman @sageofredondo People who left KDE years ago due to quality issues should take another look: they're doing a great job at fixing old bugs and polishing every single pixel on the UI.

@benoit @makuharigaijin I've been using the #KDE #Plasma #Wayland session for over 1 year now. The number of bugs has steadily gone down, and now it's on par with X11 except for saving and restoring window positions, a longstanding unimplemented feature.

Wayland got way... better.

I recently installed the materia-kde-* RPMs and switched to the Materia Dark theme. Not bad!

I already tried twice to update #Plasma installed on Manjaro on my #Pinephone. Apart from the package conflict of pipewire-media-sesison & wireplumber, at a certain point, Plasma crashes and I can't access to a terminal anymore, and wifi doesn't work anymore too. Therefore I need to chroot (eventually set /etc/resolv.conf for the DNS) and run again:
pacman -Syu
