@Gargron oh wow, that's nice! How do you handle it? X fetches after it is posted, or do you try to re fetch if the cache expired and a user wants to see the content?

The former would mean doing some work even if no one sees the content, and the later would be harder to implement, since it'll need to check and purge the cache.

I'm not sure what's better, but I'm trying to implement a system like that for one of my apps, and would love to know what you found to be better/easier (no pressure!)

@Gargron hey, I'm late to the party, but what would be your position on updating the thumbnails? For example, some "news" sites use a spicy thumbnail and an hour or so later update to the real thumbnail, and that's why Facebook needs to re fetch after some time.
