    • fediverse
    Recommend me !fediverse instances that:
    * have minimal block lists (only blocks spam; doesn't block controversial content or NSFW)
    * doesn't look like a copy of twitter

    Bonuses are:
    * sane admin
    * neutral domain name
    * both activitypub and ostatus support
    * good dark theme

    Going to miss this !gnusocial instance.

    I checked friendi.ca and the option to "expire old content" seems promising, and I'd like !gnusocial to have something similar. But then about every english instance on the main directory instates some kind of instance block I don't agree with.
    Maybe the post can exist, but after some time, the referenced user/id in the post converts to anonymous; or only n newest posts retain usernames.

    Looking for active users on !gnusocial instances is tough when the public timeline is filled with off-instance posts and the People directory doesn't sort by activity.

    I'm on the lookout for anyone on a ostatus+activitypub instance with a crazy habit of retweeting and favoriting.

    Wondering how far #ostatus extends after some places dropped support for it.

    Sometimes "picture-posts" from other instances on the timeline aren't expanded and only appear as links. Are there plans to have them expanded or am I missing a setting?

    Did !gnusocial stop federating with mastodon instances? Everything looks so different after I took a break.

    Can we get a bot filter for GnuSocial yet? I liked clicking on my now-deleted list and seeing human activity instead of two bots dominating a timeline.

    Ok, that's good. I didn't want to lose contact with the instances that were using #Mastodon.

    If Mastodon is dropping Ostatus support, maybe admins of other instances could change to Pleroma? Or !GNUSocial supports ActivityPub?

    I like GNUSocial and don't wanna switch off.

    I made a List which I'm in, which someone subscribed to. Now almost every reply to my notices from off-instance also @'s that subscriber. Is this how Lists are supposed to work.

    I miss this feature, why doesn't this instance have it anymore / what happened to it entirely?

    !gnusocial !fediverse How does instance blocking work? For example, if I'm on an instance that doesn't block, but one of my followers is. What happens if I retweet something from a blocked instance?

    I like the tag wrangling feature of AO3, which I think would help for cases of synonymous tags like #introduction and #introductions

    https://archiveofourown.org/wrangling_guidelines/11

    Is it feasible for !gnusocial ? Or would it cause problems?

    I made a list of humans on this instance to have an alternate public timeline that excludes not-actually-Richard-Stallman, robot anchorman, and any robot.

    Are network timelines the same between instances (assuming same protocol and same or lack of "block" settings)?
    if not, how does the instance choose which statuses to show.

    Think I am seeing a lot of the same people and bots.

    I push down my actual statuses b/c I reply a lot to other people. Can there be two columns for notices and replies like in Mastodon, or is there a specific usage for !gnusocial that I'm missing the point of.

    I've only been responding to things I find on my timeline, public timeline, or network timeline. If I found a notice off-instance, how do I respond to it without having to try and find it again?
