Yeah, GNU/FSF have never put any resources in to GNU social apart from maintaining the general !fs politics worldwide.
Originally Evan had startup grants, I just put in my free time (which I barely have any left nowadays) and @diogo got the gsoc stuff.

While I enjoy the !ostatus solution much more than ActivityPub maybr we should see what has been generated "outside" of !gnusocial .) Think of how many people have managed to find their way out on the !fediverse even if it's maybe not via GS specifically. But it's all AGPL .)

@aab en realidad buscaba más la comodidad para las personas interesadas en seguir una cuenta de #viajes.

Por ejemplo hace unos meses me volví un poco majara buscando fotos del viaje del año pasado publicadas en quitter.es y eso que buena parte tenían la etiqueta #vietnam, pero no se me ocurrió que en la gran línea temporal del !fediverse habría más gente hablando de ese país (¡qué pequeñitas somos!)

A veces además veo perfiles de personas interesadas en viajes, pero en el día a día les pasa como a mi, que hablamos de otras cosas.
En cierto modo, si llegas a una cuenta de viajes, aunque no se actualice mucho, lo último que verás en su perfil seguirá siendo de viajes.

Y en el otro lado, no sé si decirle a la peña que siga una cuenta más no le va a dar pereza.

One hint given to newcomers to !fediverse it's "when you like an account, check accounts followed by".

More than !privacy seems #private (in a public network).

I'm noticing this in the !Fediverse too. Partly, I blame it on my poor installation of GNUsocial, which doesn't reliably receive messages in conversations with people I'm definitely subscribed to. I think this happens mostly with people using Mastodon software. It's not helped that I can't subscribe to my own Fedgroups on http://sn.jonkman.ca/groups . Some people formerly active on GNUsocial instances have moved to Mastodon instances, and I'm no longer reliably receiving their messages. Other people have just left eg. @mk Marjolein and @ErkanYilmaz I'm subscribed to more people than ever, but I miss the old friends.

@dansup in a way, yes, in a decentralized and federated network anyone can join it. But... bear in mind that many people that came here (1) was due our disagree with that companies and people you invite to come.

And because free networks are made not just for developers but also a lot of contributors and just users, we don't like the idea that build tools for they.

I'm enough old to remember when there was no much people in Internet and some prophets start to guess that it will be better when companies came here.
Now we have just a dozen of Internet companies that believes they own Internet... and maybe they are right.

Anyway, @mmn did not said who can came to !fediverse and who not. Just who he/we don't like and for who don't want to work.

(1) At least in !gnusocial I think most people are here to escape for that companies and people you invited in your previous status, maybe not so clear in Mastodon. Just understand our reaction. :)
