@nikola evidence please for the claim that #iOS is more "secure & privacy-aware" than #Android? -

@ayachan what? You found someone with ignorant opinions on the internet? How could that happen in a fundamentally permissionless medium?!? -

@jeroenpraat @nebby 'Usability in Free Software' by Jan-Christoph Borchardt looks useful

@nebby @jeroenpraat I'm guessing you're not the only one ;) That subreddit has some good resources, although not too many participants yet. -

I was too quick to judge #StarTrek #Discovery and I'm glad I stuck with it. It's really finding it's feet in the second half of season 1 -

@musicman another month. Relocating to a new city. Normal transmission will probably resume once we're set up there. Nice to be missed :) -

@icanopen @veer66 does #Cinammon have those same dependency issues? I find it runs better than #GNOME on the same hardware -

@jeroenpraat @nebby some of the Loomio founders had never coded before they joined the project, which I think helped the UX lot. -

@jeroenpraat @nebby one example of a free code project designed for a great UX from the get-go is #Loomio (#AGPL), a decision-making tool -

@veer66 although to be fair it's probably a decade or more since I tried XFCE, maybe it's got a lot better since then -

@veer66 I'm just curious to know why you would use #XFCE instead of a full-featured desktop environment when you have so much RAM? -

@nebby there's even a subreddit focused on the problem of improving the UX of free code software

@nebby de nada :) #PatternFly is a similar project I stumbled on late last year. Just found it again

@veer66 sure, but #Cinammon runs perfectly fine on 2GB of RAM. If I want to free up RAM, I switch to Openbox. What's the advantage of XFCE? -

@veer66 wow! Of those I've only tried LXDE, and like XFCE I find it neither light enough nor fully featured enough to be useful -

@veer66 cool. Such a shame #Mozilla canned the official dev project. Do you know if there is a community fork? -

@veer66 you just need to know the exact package name of any apps you want to use in it, so you can launch them from a terminal window ;) -

@veer66 have you tried #Openbox? All the joy of GUI apps with very little desktop overhead. Good for more advanced #GNU-Linux users
