@codewiz adventures in rice cooking reminded me that Zojirushi makes a Tatung-like single-switch rice cooker. It operates like the original (I think) Hitachi ‘automatic kamado’ design, unlike the Tatung steamer. I actually am curious as to whether they sold that business to Zojirushi or licensed it or what.

@codewiz Real talk - is this stuff okay? I know it says "High Quality" right on the label, but I have become suspicious of these claims over the years 😉. The Mitsuwa near me sells this stuff for cheap, but I haven't been desperate enough to try it.
But on the other hand I eat kappumen all the time… 🫤

At least pronouns and honorifics you can hear in an anime.

Haven't watched this one yet, but 'bokuko' are a fairly common trope and usually used to tag a tomboy character. If gender differences are less stylized than in current Japanese society I would think that the gender-neutral 'watashi' would be used by everyone.
