@ExtentOfTheJam Yep. That's the big design change - they've added a 16 byte buffer. So you fill it up, and then it plays it, and that's a hard limit on the rate.

What are extra days off for if not for dicking around with 1980 software at 8 in the morning?

@indigoparadox There isn't a fine line. In 1980/1981 you couldn't run CP/M on an 8086. That's a pretty clear line.

@ExtentOfTheJam not sure, would have to check. But there would be a significant drop in quality as the DSS is limited to 8000hz output.

@floe I'm from Eastern Europe. For a while that's all one could hope for, besides pc speaker, if they knew how to solder a few things together.

Whoa. For 30th anniversary of the Russian cult classic ZX Spectrum game "The Adventures of Buratino" its creator Vyacheslav "Copper Feet" Mednonogov released a Windows remake of it & extended it with new material 2x the size of the original!

I've just played through a 1995 Macromedia Director game on a modern system using ScummVM, and nothing prepares you for this. I cheered, I shouted, I fist-pumped the air, I cried, I stood and cheered. It's absolutely everything that you would hope it was gonna be.

@thomasfuchs Posted a Strip Poker 2 screenshot. But that doesn't make their statement any less confusing.
