@ifixcoinops Even if I technically have the right to ban anyone, it does not exactly foster trust if there is no consistency and it's not predictable. That's why I'd rather have clear rules.
@BalooUriza Well, the thing with this question is that currently I am not even sure which position you are representing. A lot of pro-Russia sentiment I see comes from Western leftists. They claim that the Ukrainians are the right-wing extremists (a claim I personally disagree with, but hence the confusion). A little bit comes from Russian users. But all could be classified as personal opinion, I don't see accounts *dedicated* to it either way.
I'm curious how other server administrators are handling users' reports of various degrees of pro-Russia content at the moment. Despite my personal position on the matter, I don't think any of our current server rules cover this situation, and while I am not certain if they should, the reports do keep coming.
I've been able to get my hands on the #TruthSocial source code (they do have a link to it on their website, although their website is not accessible to me).
They have disabled federation features. I absolutely expected that, just confirming it for others. It is just another walled garden.
Shout out to @puckipedia for finding CVE-2022-24307, shout out to the European Commission for sponsoring a bug bounty program that incentivized the discovery, and shout out to @Claire for organizing the patch releases!
I donβt think I can implement a yearly recap feature and get it into a stable release that everyone will install before 2021 ends but I want to set it as a goal as a fun little feature for next year
