They don't. In fact the person doesn't even ask you all the relevant questions - like the incident that led to the particular problem. They just listen to the symptom and give you a medicine, which I feel is insufficient. But then doctors are overburdened and have to treat as much patients as possible in a short time. I doubt that they'd earn much treating in a subsidized health center like this one. -

That's sad. I guess it is really difficult to have a freedom respecting computer these days with most part of the computer being manufactured by another company. -

@solariiknight update on that, it appears the answer is "no", #PineBook is not fully freedom respecting :(

Just had the fastest consultation ever. I said 4 symptoms and the doctor gave 4 medicines for those symptoms - all in 2 minutes.
(It was an outsourced college hospital which has free consultation and pharmacy that gives free medicines) -

Apparently there are shady salesmen who are offering credit card if you send your scanned copies of "Aadhaar card", PAN card and passport size photo. I can see a possibility of a big scam here. -

The CPU will throttle itself in case of high temperature (and shutdown if need be). The surrounding components may be vulnerable if not selected and/or positioned carefully - the aluminium electrolyte capacitors in the board will drastically reduce in life if they get heated up. The heat sink and fans need to be cleaned up if they are clogged and replaced if the fan stops working. The laptops plastic casing becomes weak after a long time of heat exposure. One of my old laptop's plastic casing near the heat exhaust became very brittle as potato chips after 8 years in service.
Power adaptor - have electrolytic capacitors and hence same concern. -

"Only this time, even as Trump did all that Modi himself had promised, the impact of the divisiveness for the NRI was personal. Trump denied them visas, vilified immigrants, made citizenship enormously difficult and cut down social expenditure."

wow, that's great.
I'd probably buy it after 4 years, second hand. My current laptop's i5-2520M has a single thread rating of ~1500 in cpubenchmark.net, which is comfortably enough for all tasks that I require. The new i3-8th gen has ~2150. -

I'm very much fascinated (perhaps irrationally) with low power processors like N3700, J5005 etc. -

but then I'd still buy second hand laptops - I bought a thinkpad T420 at 30% of the new laptop price and it is running good for four years. -

Look at the single thread performance of an 7th gen and 8th gen processor here.

If you're planning to buy a new laptop, just wait a bit more. The 8th gen intel processors seem to have a huge leap(+50%) in terms of performance compared to previous 7th generation. -

Is distributed computing all over the world more eco-friendly than having a cluster of super computers to do the job?
