@nihl I initially thought you could steal the ClientHello or carve out the ESNI request to replay the packet and see what they were requesting by reading the certificate in the response, but there is an ephemeral ECDHE key used by the client sent with the request.

    Client:

    1. look up dns, get key
    2. generate ECDHE key for protecting response
    3. send ESNI encrypted with key from DNS
    4. get response back, encrypted with your ECDHE key
    5. decrypt the response and get your cert chain, etc
    6. continue as normal

Makes this tricky to intercept if you don't have the client pwned.

@nihl yeah I want to know what happens when you reject ESNI or filter out the DNS record for the published key

@nihl you're asking the right questions and I know half the answers (you're right on track here) but I've reached out to my contact at Bluecoat to seek some more details. I'll forward on what I learn.

The fall and winter the last few years have been hell on my Subaru. I don't know the cause, and I don't intend on spending a penny to find out. I've had the engine rebuilt by a friend a couple years ago -- all new seals and gaskets, ready to go. It's only at about 150k miles and when it starts getting moist or cold outside it runs rough, idles rough, sometimes behaves like it's misfiring or having compression issues.

Yes I can pull the codes, I've talked to everyone worth talking to. Fixing this is going to be a nontrivial amount of money and this is just a glorified dog kennel on wheels and a backup vehicle for when my wife is at work with my Tesla.

So I guess I'll be acquiring a used Nissan Leaf sometime in the near future. Give me about 80 miles of range and I'll be happy. I don't need any more than that, honestly.

When @lain was here I couldn't find any Mate drinks that weren't full of sugar or flavored. I know of only one brand that makes a "sparkling mate tea" which doesn't have sugar, but it's rarely in stock when I look for it.

Those Sour Cream & Onion Toasted Ritz Chips should be banned by the Geneva Convention or something.

American snack foods are on a whole different level. You eat snacks from other countries and they don't compare.

Our junk food industry has hacked human tastebuds and brains with their flavorings. It's just unreal.

Compare Mexican Doritos to American Doritos -- very different. The Mexican ones have better texture and a better cheese flavor IMO, but they don't make you want to eat 10 bags of them.

Sometimes when I'm traveling out the country and I see American brand snacks I'll try them to see how they compare. They're different. Better. Satiating, not making you want to gorge.

Sour Skittles in USA: incredibly sour, has a sour sugar coating on the outside. Addictive as fuck.

Sour Skittles in Germany: like regular Skittles, but kind of sour. You don't really want to finish the bag.

Even regional favorites that inspired each other are wildly different.

Smarties: milk chocolate, but kind of bland

M&Ms: milk chocolate, has an addictive sweetness and crunch to them

American junk food is just on a whole different level. It really needs regulation or we'll never get over this obesity epidemic.

@Rude @nihl @pamela I know the CDC info, but it doesn't say the exact cause. And a lot of the cases reported included THC carts that were bought cheap on the street. This guy has been manufacturing and selling millions of them over the last couple years. Probably got greedy on local batches and has been cutting them. Easy to ship them to dealers all around the country.
