@codewiz @benoit I learned to cook the usual rice in a pot on a gas stove. This was before the family bought a rice cooker.
When your family depends on you to cook the rice properly, it cooks nicely. ๐

@codewiz I'm not certain how Uniqlo does it, but in Singapore, the local library system uses large NFC based open gantries at its entrances. These can automatically detect library books passing through them and sound an alert if it detects library books that have not been borrowed.
Possible Uniqlo has a similar, or more advanced system.
@codewiz Yes. The book introduces the detective, Elijah Baley, and his robotic partner, R. Daneel Olivaw.
@codewiz I started with "The Caves of Steel" and never looked back. ๐
@codewiz There's also one in the thread that is apparently by 'Old gpt'.
@codewiz I occasionally give the browser version of Impossible Mission a try. ๐
@codewiz You may want to read Ed Yong's new book, "An Immense World", where he covers the different sensory world of animals.
Here's a Big Think video by him about the book.

@codewiz My Honda Jazz (Fit) also has shift paddles, and I find them useful for engine braking, to adjust my speed without touching the brakes.
But I suppose that's because the Fit is much lighter than an Alfa Romeo. ๐

@codewiz Some Mastodon instances ask for donations (on Patreon or elsewhere) to help pay for the hosting costs. That's what I'm doing for some instances that I'm using.
The About page of your Mastodon instance may list this option.

"Magawa, the famous mine-clearing rat who was awarded a gold medal for his heroism, has died at the age of eight.
In a five-year career, the rodent sniffed out over 100 landmines and other explosives in Cambodia."
Not sure if this is an option for you, but Lenovo does sell the Thinkpad keyboard by itself as a USB or Wireless (BlueTooth) keyboard.
@codewiz Guess I'm the only person on Mastodon not using Spotify. ๐
I have a bunch of albums in MP3 and OGG format on offline storage. And I usually just listen to 'old' pop hits on local FM radio.

Formula E features racing on a street track with electric racing vehicles.
You may have seen videos of a wing nut in space spinning and suddenly flipping about its axis. Here, Veritasium offers an intuitive explanation for it (originally given by mathematician Terry Tao).
He then goes on to show why objects in space that spin on their long axis will start to tumble and spin on another axis. And also why ideas that the Earth's axis will flip are wrong.
