While I agree and assert the right of a server to enforce blocks and associate how they wish, I do not think any server has any responsibility to take action on their end to enforce a black that another server has done, nor do I feel it is ultimately appropriate for you to do so. Moreover, it isn't feasible on any sort of scale, because all of your admin time at some point would be spent on accomodating to all the other instances, when it should be spent on _your own instance_ and _your own community_. An instance admin's responsibility is to their instance first.

@archaeme Ultimately I cannot stop them from doing this nor do I think it would be appropriate for me to do so even if I could, but that doesn't mean I cannot criticise it, and I would encourage instance admins to treat the Fediverse with more care and respect. We are not a "brand" or an advertising byword. We're people. We're not in the silos anymore, and I don't want to see the Fediverse become like those silos. -

@bob I recently helped a local business set up a private pA instance for internal communication, which was interesting to do and see. There is growing interest in owning your own tools for communication, and this is a good thing. -

@rw @maloki I think it's wrong of anyone to presume to tell any node that isn't their own how they should operate, as long as it doesn't damage the network. We have a huge and diverse community. Homogenizing it would be a mistake. -

Perhaps for Mastodon-residing people we could also use the hashtag #postActiv since groups are not supported by Mastodon. @teddiesage When you make an identity such a part of your being as some people do in these groups (be it gay, lesbian, trans, etc), more often than not it becomes galvanized and radical, and that leads to all sorts of problems.

As much as I would find it cathartic to see mastodon fail on a personal level given my grievances, I'd much rather see it succeed. At the very least, I want it's community to stay around, yes, even you people who reported me to have me banned there, because diversity is the fediverse's strength. Without it, it just becomes another Ello or Minds or whatever. -
